Saltzman Sees...29th Street (1991)

Frank Pesce Jr., played by Anthony LaPaglia, is the luckiest man alive in spite of his bad luck. Based on a true story, a man growing up in a tough New York neighborhood has a gift for finding himself in the worst possible jams...and always getting out. He is the first New York Lottery winner.  The acting is masterful, led by Danny Aiello and Lainie Kazan.

It only grossed $2.1 million at the box office and is an utterly forgotten movie.  It is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen, and certainly a beautiful story that should be cherished.  It is hands down, the Most Underrated Movie of 1991.

It also won my Best Supporting Actress (Lainie Kazan) and Best Screenplay (George Gallo) and was nominated for my Best Actor (Anthony LaPaglia) Best Supporting Actor (Danny Aiello)
