Saltzman Sees...Boyz N The Hood (1991)
Boyz N The Hood is John Singleton's portrayal of social problems in inner-city Los Angeles
takes the form of a tale of three friends growing up together 'in the
'hood.' Half-brothers Doughboy and Ricky Baker are foils for each
other's personality, presenting very different approaches to the tough
lives they face. Ricky is the 'All-American' athlete, looking to win a
football scholarship to USC and seeks salvation through sports, while
'Dough' succumbs to the violence, alcohol, and crime surrounding him in
his environment, but maintains a strong sense of pride and code of
honor. Between these two is their friend Tre, who is lucky to have a
father, 'Furious' Styles, to teach him to have the strength of character
to do what is right and to always take responsibility for his actions.
Singleton was my Best Director of 1991.

Saltzman Sees...Father of the Bride (1991)
Father of the Bride is one of the most heartwarming stories ever told about the fear of losing your daughter to a younger man. Steve Martin, one of the greatest comedians of all-time, portrays George Banks flawlessly, by playing a father filled with flaws.
The one thing he has nailed down is his love for his family and this story exudes that. Father of the Bride is certainly one of the most underrated performances of Martin's career and also started Kimberly Williams movie career.
It is the Best Family Picture of 1991.

Saltzman Sees...29th Street (1991)
Frank Pesce Jr., played by Anthony LaPaglia, is the luckiest man alive in spite of his bad luck. Based on
a true story, a man growing up in a tough New York neighborhood has a
gift for finding himself in the worst possible jams...and always getting
out. He is the first New York Lottery winner. The acting is masterful, led by Danny Aiello and Lainie Kazan.
It only grossed $2.1 million at the box office and is an utterly forgotten movie. It is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen, and certainly a beautiful story that should be cherished. It is hands down, the Most Underrated Movie of 1991.
It also won my Best Supporting Actress (Lainie Kazan) and Best Screenplay (George Gallo) and was nominated for my Best Actor (Anthony LaPaglia) Best Supporting Actor (Danny Aiello)
